Lifestyle Attribute Scale
A set of “lifestyle attributes” have been developed by Onboard, a 3rd party data provider, to indicate whether or not a specific area represent the attribute. How high or low a particular neighborhood “scores” for the attribute is based on proprietary algorithms developed by Onboard over many years. These algorithms take into account the various factors that may make an area more or less appealing for a specific lifestyle or show how an area has more or less of a desired attribute or set of attributes. All scores are out of a 100 point scale.
This score indicates how densely populated an area is. Urban communities generally have 20,000 or more people per square mile. Suburban communities generally have 1,000 to 4,000 people per square mile. Rural communities generally have less than 50 people per square mile.
Family Friendly Community
The percentage of households with children, as well as other items such as crime statistics, and variables that indicate a large percentage of school age children, are used to determine how Family Friendly a community is.
Health & Safety Services
How well does the community rate in terms of proximity to healthcare and safety services such as ambulances, hospitals, police, fire departments, and other medical services.
Highly Rated Schools
This score represents how well a community rates in terms of school performance and uses data from GreatSchools.net, an independent group that evaluates school performance and generates a non-biased rating for each. This attribute will calculate the average GreatSchools.net ratings in the community.
What percentage of the working population commutes to work by public transportation? A low score indicates a community that favors commuting to work by car while a high score indicates a community that favors commuting by public transportation.
Basic Needs & Amenities
How accessible is the community to every day needs such as big box retailers, grocery stores, banking and other resources?
What is the density of cultural activities available within a community? These activities include live theater and dance, museums, and other cultural points of interest.
Fun & Hip
How fun, hip or trendy a community is based on various attributes that appeal to younger singles that like to be where the action is. These attributes include eating and drinking establishments, availability of various types of entertainment.
What is the density of retail stores in a community? This includes department stores, boutique clothing stores, and other retail experiences.
What is the density of golf courses in or near an area? Proximity to private, semi-private, and public golf courses, driving ranges and golf sporting good stores impact this rating.
